A Professional Organizer can fill many roles but ultimately I see my mission as helping you implement the vision you have for your home, and really, your life. My role is to support you through this process in a nonjudgmental, empathetic and positive way. While each person and situation is very unique, there are four basic steps to every organizing project.
|
1. Assess - What is working?
- What is not working?
- What essential items are needed?
- What is causing the problem? Is it mechanical, emotional, situational or the system?
2. Vision and Plan - What is your purpose in getting organized?
- How would you like your home or workspace to be?
- What would make you happy with this space? How will you feel there?
- During this phase we will plan how we will proceed working together, including calculating the time it will take to complete the job.
3. Implement - Organize "like with like"
- Eliminate - let things go thoughtfully
- Assign a home
- Shop
- Equalize and maintain. If this process takes longer than five minutes per room adjustments are necessary.
4. Evaluate - Has your vision been achieved?
- Adjustments may be needed as your life grows and changes.
